The year 2023 marks a very special anniversary for us: On January 8, 1848, Carl Remigius Fresenius founded the "Chemisches Laboratorium Fresenius Wiesbaden," which later became Institut Fresenius. From the very beginning, he devoted himself not only to research but also to the training of junior staff, and founded a teaching institute and a training laboratory.
This laboratory, founded in 1848, is also the cornerstone of our educational group, which today includes a wide variety of educational providers: from the Ludwig Fresenius Schools to the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences and Carl Remigius Medical School, to the Akademie Fresenius, which offers continuing education on the safety and quality of food, consumer products and chemical products, as well as on corporate environmental protection. They are all part of an educational tradition that has been characterised from the outset by innovation and a spirit of research, great practical relevance and a high sense of social responsibility.
